Paul is a pianist leading a busy and varied musical life involving performing, conducting, teaching, composing and arranging.
Paul’s work as a pianist centres around accompanying. He performs regularly with flautist Nina Robertson, and tenor Stephen Brown, in recitals throughout the UK and abroad, and is a member of the Hampton Trio, specialising in music for piano, flute and cello. Paul is also a highly experienced exam and audition accompanist and also works with several leading performing arts institutions including the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and Italia Conti.
Choral music has been a significant component of Paul’s work for the last 30 years. He is musical director of several choirs including the Amici Chamber Choir, Ember Choral Society, Godalming Choral Society, and the Anselm Singers. He is also organist and choir director at St Mary’s Parish Church is Hampton. He frequently composes and arranges for several leading choirs, and is much in demand as choral accompanist.
Paul has performed at many of the UK’s leading music venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Hall, as well as several cathedrals and churches throughout the UK, including St Paul’s, Southwark, Wells, Peterborough, and St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Paul studied piano with Anthony Green at Trinity College of Music, conducting with Peter Stark, and composition with Antonin Tucapsky and Andrew Lovett, followed by further studies at the Royal College of Music. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
